Kavame Law Firm was established in 2015 by the founding partner Atty. Oya Deniz Kavame who was previously an M&A partner of another law firm and, before that, she worked for seven years at a well-known law firm in Istanbul heading her own international and corporate law department therein.

She focused on rendering legal services to foreign investors from the USA, Europe, Japan, China, and the Middle East with regard to company establishments, M&As, analysis and interpretation of contracts on a variety of business transactions, commercial law issues, negotiations and mediations.

She led the M&A transactions of numerous local and multinational companies. In addition, she was the key contributor to the due diligence reports of the 46 thermal and hydroelectric power plants on the verge of privatization process. She has long been giving full legal consultancy services to her foreign and local clients and following up on their critical lawsuits.

Among her clients, there have been governmental agencies privatizing state-owned companies, companies that show activities in the capital markets, logistic companies, companies seeking legal advice on dumping and anti-dumping investigation processes, and foreign companies setting up liaison offices, limited and joint stock companies, branches, etc. in Turkey.

Atty. Oya Deniz Kavame mainly drafted agreements including but not limited to the sale and purchase, non-disclosure, joint venture, loan and consultancy agreements, experienced on preparing legal documents such as due diligence reports, letter of intents, legal opinions to foreign and local clients, gave full legal consultancy services to local and foreign based clients who show activity on the capital markets, electric, real estate and construction sectors, followed dumping and anti-dumping investigation processes from beginning to the end before the Undersecretariat of Treasury and Foreign Trade on behalf of domestic producers and international import-export firms, managed several company establishments, share transfer processes, and M&As, prepared all types of resolutions and organized general assemblies of the companies, and experienced on alternative dispute resolution.

After graduating from Istanbul Bilgi University, she studied Alternative Dispute Resolution, Law Office Management and Evidence Law courses at South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas. Atty. Kavame is registered in Istanbul Bar Association and a certified mediator in Turkey.

Atty. Oya Deniz Kavame graduated from Istanbul Bilgi University School of Law, completed the “EU and Turkey” education which was given for six months by several experts and organized by the EU Institute of the Istanbul Bilgi University.

After graduating from Istanbul Bilgi University School of Law, she studied Alternative Dispute Resolution, Law Office Management and Evidence Law courses at South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas, USA.

ACTIVITIES

Atty. Kavame also attended some seminars organized by the Institute for Global Understanding of Law, Bahçeşehir University, Faculty of Law called “Global Legal Education Seminary” and “Introduction to Negotiation and Mediation”, got some courses with respect to “Mediation and Cross Examination Techniques”.

Atty. Oya Deniz Kavame ran a seminar and gave a speech at the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce on "Dumping and Subvention", which included the categories of dumping and subvention, procedure of application and examination, margin of dumping, other measures against dumping taken by the Undersecretariat of Foreign Trade and the related legal actions.

Atty. Kavame attended an event organized by Istanbul Chamber of Commerce called “Arbitration of International Commercial Disputes”,

Ms. Kavame attended “Preventing and Managing International Commercial Disputes,” seminar at ADRMeda Rome Italy.

Ms. Kavame gave a lecture to attorneys, judges, prosecutors and high level investors on “Determination and Managing The Legal Risk Connected with the Concession Agreements” during the international law conference entitled “Legal Risk Management” held in Skopje, Macedonia.

She attended a seminar called “Economic and Financial Forum for the Mediterranean” at Milan Chamber of Commerce Milan Italy.

She attended “Structuring Company Models in USA, Tax Legislation, Resolution of Commercial Disputes, Distributorship, Trademarks” and “Basic Legal Principles of Doing Business in the USA” seminars.
